The Aquacultured Pulsing Xenia is a prolific grower under a wide variety of conditions and is especially hardy once it is acclimatized. Since it is moderate to handle and care, it is not considered a good candidate for beginner hobbyists. It's delicate, snowflake-like polyps and striking white coloration will add a captivating specimen in the tank. Aquacultured Pulsing Xenia will grow under lighting ranging from power compacts to metal halides and slow to fast current, therefore it is necessary to place it in appropriate conditions. The Aquacultured Pulsing Xenia cannot tolerate poor water quality but will thrive in optimum conditions. The Aquacultured Pulsing Xenia also reproduces asexually through colonial fission similar to our Blue Xenia, Pom-Pom Xenia, and both Cespitularia species. It has feather-like polyp tentacles that resemble that of clove polyps, but its main body is a stalk resembling that of a Xenia sp. It mainly absorbs dissolved organic matter, microscopic food particles from the water column, and undergoes photosynthesis with the help of zooxanthellae that dwells inside its tissue. A tank should be well established with live rocks where it can be attached to a hard substrate and flourish. The Aquacultured Pulsing Xenia is non-aggressive and will not sting or affect nearby corals, thereby making a reef safe species.

These guys give great movement to my reef in progress.

Took a few days to really open up, doing well now. Not as purple as I expected, nice addition to my tank regardless.

This is a very nice specimen, he came a little small but I expect he will soon be taking over the rock he is on. Nice color and very healthy.

I received two stalks attached to a plug and at first I thought the Xenia had died. For the first week they were closed and colorless. Then slowly they opened. Now they're pulsing like crazy, beautiful and so fun to watch. They were apart of my second order with Saltwaterfish and everything has exceeded my expectations.
