The Flower Anemone, Epicystis crucifer, is also commonly known as the Rock Anemone or Rock Flower Anemone, has a colorful differentiated oral disc and tends to bury itself into a sandy substrate only showing its oral disc and tentacles. The Flower Anemone comes in a huge variety of colors including green, brown, tan, purple, blue, and red. They should be housed in tanks with plenty of live rock creating shady regions and a sandy substrate. They prefer to hide in the shade or buried in the sand. Unlike other anemones, the Flower Anemone is relatively stationary choosing to pick one spot and not move around  much. They eat a carnivorous diet consisting of small meaty foods.

I love Rock Flower Anemone's and this one did not disappoint! Bright yellow fringe with tan oral disc. Immediately attached to rock where I placed him. He moved overnight and has been in the same place since then. Readily accepted bits of shrimp. Positively glows under the high power LED lighting. I've had another Rock Flower Anemone for over 17 years, I'm looking forward to the same with this guy!

Settled where I put it, has now moved, is eating and has actually grown or maybe it is just expanding. Good deal, next time I'll get a few.. how about making us a package deal? 3 or 5?
