The Bumble Bee Shrimp (Gnathophyllum americanum) is a small species of shrimp found among tropical lagoons and bays. They have a yellow and black or brown striped body, giving them a similar coloration to a bumblebee. They reach a maximum size of 1 inch and should be kept in reef aquariums, where they have ample room to hide and scavenge. They will eat most meaty saltwater foods, but it will also feed on Starfish and Sea urchin's tube feet so keeping them together is not recommended. They can be used to help with Asterina Starfish or pest starfish populations.

These little shrimp are very amusing to watch them travel around your tank looking for food.
