The Spiny Tiger Shrimp, Phyllognathia ceratophthalma, is known as the Harlequin Shrimp, Tiger Shrimp, Bumblebee Shrimp, Horned Bumblebee Shrimp, Bongo Bumblebee Shrimp, Bongo Shrimp, and Dragon Shrimp. It is a tiny shrimp only growing to a maximum size of 0.5 inches. The Spiny Tiger Shrimp features one of the most fascinating body morphs of any shrimp out there. It has numerous filamentous frills, spots, and stripes. It will feed on an omnivorous diet consisting of small inverts including sponges and sea stars as well as algae. Be careful when keeping a Spiny Tiger Shimp, however. Due to their minuscule size they can easily be eaten by aggressive or predatory fish or inverts, so only house with peaceful tank mates.
