The Samurai Squirrelfish thrives best in tanks with plenty of live rock hiding places, and kept in small groups. They are fast growers that will need a bigger aquarium of at least 70 gallons. The Samurai Squirrelfish is vulnerable to predation of larger fish, so they should not be housed with aggressive tank mates. They also should not be handled in nets as their spines and gills are easily caught in nets. Overall, they are a unique fish that goes great with most home aquarium set ups.
