The Remora Sharksucker, Echeneis naucrates, also known as the Live Sharksucker or the Slender Sharksucker, is a unique aquarium fish that is usually found in the wild clining onto a larger shark or other fish. They obtain nutrients from attaching themselves to a larger host eating parasitic crustaceans but will also feed a normal carnivorous diet in the home aquarium. Without a host, they will be fine and will sometimes congregate with others of its own species. They are best cared for in very large tanks of at least 250 gallons.
