These Seahorses are Yellow with dark and white markings. They are captive bred animals that are already eating frozen brine shrimp and mysis. Please note that the coloration is somewhat dependent on their surroundings. Yellow/orange hold fasts, gorgonians, and sponges will bring out the coloration. Brazilian Seahorses are actually an Atlantic species with a wide range. They occur from as far north the Carolinas, Bermuda and south to Brazil. They are known in the hobby as Brazilian Seahorses because in the past many colorful wild specimens were imported form Brazil. The Brazilian variety of H. reidi is one of the largest seahorses species known, growing to over 8 inches in length. They have a range of color variations from black to yellow, orange and red. Keep seahorses in a dedicated tank with other peaceful fish such as pipefish, small gobies or chromis. These amazing animals require some rockwork and plants to anchor themselves. It is recommended that gorgonians be used for this to prevent any tail damage from something that is rough. It is recommended to feed seahorses 4 x a day. Do not overfeed, remove any leftover foods. Monitor water quality frequently.
