The Pocillopora Coral, Pocillopora sp., otherwise known as Cauliflower Coral, is an SPS coral that resembles Acropora, and comes in many colors including brown, green, pink, tan, and purple. It is a branching coral with small fuzzy polyps dotting each growing branch. These corals are quite beautiful, but also relatively difficult to keep in the home aquarium. They should be in tanks with high levels of lighting and strong waterflow. The Pocillopora Coral is fast growing and should be placed with plenty of room to spread out. Pocillopora Corals can also play host to a number of small invertebrate species including species of shrimp and crab. This coral can also be successfully cultured in the home aquarium. Overall, Pocillopora Corals are quite beautiful and perfect for any reef system - they are fast growers and can be a joy to watch.
