The Orange Sponge, Clathria sp., are among the simplest forms of multicellular life on earth. They will filter feed but should be supplemented with phytoplankton or zooplankton. They can also benefit from good sand sifters in the tank. They cannot be exposed to air during acclimation at all. Sponges can release dangerous toxins if stressed out that can affect other members of your tank. It is important to handle with care and be cautious when having a sponge enter the tank. The Orange Sponge may take many shapes and is a bright orange color.
