The Metallic Squirrelfish, Neoniphon sp. is a member of the genus Neoniphon of squirrelfish. The Metallic Squirrelfish is peaceful and a great addition to any reef tank though it is usually suggested that you only keep one squirrelfish in a tank. The Metallic Squirrelfish eats a carnivorous diet including meaty frozen foods as well as live foods. They are quite a hardy species of fish and should be kept in tanks with ample amounts of live rock for it to hide. Be aware the the Metallic Squirrelfish, like other squirrelfish, may pick on and eat smaller fish that fit inside of their mouths, so it is best to keep with larger fish. Your Metallic Squirrelfish will mostly likely hide in the rocks during the day and come out and be active at night as it is nocturnal. Overall, the Metallic Squirrelfish is a good reef dweller if kept out of sight of smaller organisms and provided plenty of rock.
