The Lobo Brain Coral, Lobophyllia hemprichii, is a colorful LPS coral that goes by many names incuding Carpet, Open Brain, Lobed, Colored, Modern, and Meat Coral. The Lobo Brain Coral comes in a number of different colors including blue, red, and orange and a number of different texture patterns including smooth, bumpy, and carpet-like. It is important to give plenty of space between the Lobo Brain Coral and other organisms as the coral will extend its tentacles at night and potential harm others. The Lobo Brain Coral is an excellent coral for beginner aquarists as they are easy to care for in a reef environment. The Lobo Brain should be in a tank with moderate lighting and moderate waterflow. The Lobo Brain will benefit from supplemental feedings of both algae and meaty foods a few times per week.
