Lemnalia Soft Coral, Lemnalia sp., is a genus of soft corals also known as Tree Coral, Branch Coral, Cauliflower Coral, Broccoli Coral, Formosan Soft Coral, and Kenya Tree Coral, among others. Lemnalia resembles other members of the Nephtheidae family but actually has a thinner stalk that the other species. They are usually a creamy pink to brown color, with randomly scattered polyps across the branches. They are not an extremely hardy coral, but are not as difficult to care for as other soft tree corals. Waterflow levels must be kept moderate to strong to prevent the Lemnalia to wilt and collapse. They will feed off of plankton in the tank but also should be directly fed. They have the ability to and may release toxins into the tank so be wary when choosing tank mates. Overall, a beautiful coral if kept correctly, but a number of tank specifications must be met before a livable environment is created for the Lemnalia Soft Coral.
