The Interruptus Angelfish, Centropyge interruptus, also known as the Japanese Pygmy Angelfish, is one of the most highly prized and desired fish species in the aquarium trade. Found off the coasts of Japan, the Interruptus Angel exhibits vibrant shades of pink and purple, littered with speckled blue dots creating one of the most visually appealing and exciting fish available for purchase. The Interruptus Angel will undoubtedly become the centerpiece of any aquarium and provide spectacular rarity and color to your reef.
In addition to the Interruptus Angelfish's stunning beauty and uniqueness, it is also an excellent reef fish being compatible with most other fish species, corals, and invertebrates. Moreover, the Interruptus is quite a hardy species of angel. They eat an omnivorous diet consisting of frozen brine and mysis shrimp and will readily take most prepared herbivorous flake and pellet food. They are also known to graze on algae and live rock in the tank.  If kept well fed, the Interruptus Angel will steer clear of picking on anything in the aquarium. It is advised that the Interruptus Angelfish is kept in an aquarium of no less than 75 gallons to provide it plenty of free swimming space and places to hide.
Juvenile Interruptus Angelfish have the most varied and colored patterning. As they mature, adult Interruptus Angelfish's colors begin to mute slightly, though they too still exhibit extreme beauty. Overall, the Interruptus Angelfish is quite the treat to be found for sale on the aquarium market. The Interruptus Angel flourishes in established reef tanks and marks the zenith of caring for a pygmy angel. Any serious aquarist will understand the gravity of having the opportunity to purchase and care for a fish of this value and rarity and will be rewarded with one of the most beautiful fishes in the entire aquarium trade.
