The Red Gonoporia Coral, Goniopora sp., also known as the Flower Pot Coral, is a stony coral with many fleshy, metallic-colored polyps surrounding its mouth. It is one of the most rare and beautiful corals available in the entire marine trade. Native to the Indian Ocean, it is a coral reserved for experienced aquarists that require moderate to high lighting, with moderate to high waterflow. Placement is key: they should be in the middle of the tank but securely placed to avoid dangerous falls while also enough space for it to grow and spread its tentacles. Gonoporia Corals are relatively rare on the aquarium market but make a wonderful addition if you are up to the task of caring for it and have the right environment for it.
