The Goldflake Angelfish, Apolemichthys xanthopunctatus, is also known as the Gold-spangled or Gold-spotted Angelfish. Its gorgeous body is gold spotted and features a brighty purple or blue mouth, black finnage, and an electric blue trimming. 
This rare fish can be finicky in the home aquarium and should be reserved for experienced aquarists only. Once acclimated, it may become territorial. 
The Goldflake Angel is best kept: 
  • in a tank of at least 150 gallons with plenty of live rock hiding places
  • away from other angelfish species, especially other Goldflake Angels
  • away from vulnerable sessile inverts, soft corals, and clam mantles
  • fed a varied omnivorous diet multiple times per day
