The Flower Crab, Matuta sp., also known as the Blue Swimming Crab, features a flat and wide, muted-blue colored body. They are reef safe and peaceful with most organisms, including other crab species. They usually prefer warmer tanks with plenty of live rock and a deep sandy substrate. As proficient scavengers, the Flower Crab will scour the tank for algae, uneaten food, and detritus making it a beneficial tank member. If they are unable to scavenge enough food they will readily take additional meaty and herbivorous feedings.
