The Flame Cardinal is commonly referred to as the Flamefish that is fiery red with light accents of blue and green. The Flame Cardinal survives best at a temperature range of 72-78 degree fahrenhiet. Its diet is mainly comprised of small crustaceans and fishes, and also accepts a wide variety of meaty food stuffs. The Flame Cardinal can also be fed with color enhancing foods such as spirulina which helps in maintaining its color. It mainly inhabits rocky or coral rich reefs and is found mostly in caves and crevices. We suggest you therefore to keep few live rocks in your aquarium. The Flame Cardinal is nocturnal and does most of their feeding at night time. The Flame Cardinal are mouth brooders, in which they incubate their eggs. They generally maintain a group and look amazing while swimming with mesmerizing colored body. It should not be kept in large groups because of its aggressive behavior towards other Cardinalfish, although it does well in mated pairs.It is best to keep only one fish per tank then only it lives peacefully with other non-aggressive fish.
