The Flame Angelfish is the most gorgeous dwarf angelfish for a saltwater aquarium. With its beautifully composed color combination, Flame Angelfish draws attention to any aquarium. They feature black eyes and orangish to red color with strong contrasting black vertical lines, topped with deep electric blue accents at the back edge of the dorsal and anal fin, which gives an appearance of burning flames. The Flame Angelfish is a very good fish for an aquarium. Flame Angelfish, have been known to at times pick at corals, sponges and other reef life. The Flame Angelfish gets along nicely with many invertebrates, but sessile invertebrates. The Flame Angelfish is aggressive towards fishes that are similar in shape and size. They do tend to harm newly added fishes as it is a bit territorial in nature, therefore it is advisable to keep these fishes in a tanks containing at least 30 gallons if kept alone, or else should be kept in 75 gallons if there are more than one fish.
In this genus, the males are larger than females. The Flame Angelfish are born females and as they grow in a group, larger and dominant fishes become males and remaining become females. If a male dies, the next dominant female in the hierarchy becomes a male. It is best way to get a pair by introducing a smaller and a larger fish in a tank together. The Flame Angelfish are very hard to catch and are very much found in scattered localities of tropical waters across the western Pacific Ocean from Belau to the Hawaiian, Marquesas, and Marshall Islands. The Flame Angelfish is omnivorous in nature. Offer various types of fresh and dried marine algae, spirulina enriched foods, mysis shrimp, brine shrimp and other high-quality meaty foods, angelfish preparations, and flakes or pellets designed for algae eating fish. It thrives at a temperature 72.0 - 82.0° F and a pH of 8.1-8.4.

I've had my flame angel from swfish.com for almost three years. The color of this fish is amazing. Tons of personality, swimming in and out of the tiniest crevices in the live rock. They enjoy algae sheets, as well as meaty foods. Overall an A+.

Got my order today. All except one fish are very active. I think it may be because the bag it came in seemed to have lost air during transport, but everything else was fine. This particular fish is beautiful. Thanks Saltwaterfish.com. I will definitely be ordering again.

This is the first time buying fish from saltwaterfish and I am plesantly surprise at the quality/health of the fish and the speed of delivery.
I live in east coast and got this fish shipped from california, I had it delivered early in morning (credit to the fedex) and the fish arrived healthy, active and disease free. Especially with angel fish I am more concerned if they come with any diseases but this fish looks very good. I still put it into my QT process and its eating very well.

The Flame Angel I received acclimated quickly and gets along with my mccosker's flasher wrasse and Lenny my Lawnmower Blenny. He also immediately took to eating from a baster. I don't know if all of them are this good natured, but mine is one happy, healthy critter. I have a 60 Gal. reef tank with live rock and some assorted coral, shrimps and crabs.

My red flame angelfish arrived dead. Saltwaterfish honored their promise of a replacement. Just have to send a picture of the dead fish on a white background. I'm enjoying this fish. Pretty, easy to care and nonaggressive.

We have had our Flame Angelfish for about three months now. He is doing super, and is a hardy little eater. He has grown to about 2.5 inches, and is just a spectacular neon orange color that can be spotted from across the room. He also gets along well, with all of the other tank mates.

We love our Flame Angelfish. We have had him for about four months now, and he is doing super. His colors are so florescent, you can see him from across our office. Our employees and customers always remark on how striking he is. He gets along with all of his tank mates, and readily takes flake food, algae tablets and frozen mysis and spirulina cubes. We love him!

Healthy specimen. Not as red as one I had gotten before from Sri Lanka(?). But unlike the earlier one that died within a week, this was a healthy fis. He kept wanting to jump out of the bag before full acclimation. Doing well so far.
