The Evansi Anthias, Pseudanthias evansi, or Evan's Anthias, or the Yellowtail Anthias, is mainly pink/purple with a yellow dorsal and anal fin. The Evansi Anthias is peaceful and will thrive in a tank with other non-aggressive fish. Like many other anthias species, the Evansi Anthias is hermaphroditic. Often one large dominant male lives with females. If that male dies, the next largest female will morph into a male and assume leadership of the group. If more than one anthias is desired, it is suggested to get one male and multiple females. They are housed more comforatably in a tanks no smaller than 70 gallons if keeping one, larger tanks are needed for multiple individuals. Though the Evansi Anthias is relatively small, they are rather fickle to care for so this fish is not recommended for beginner aquarists. Once acclimated, the Evansi Anthias should be fed a mixture of meaty frozen foods and quality flake foods. With multiple individuals, the Evansi Anthias creates a beautiful mosaic of color within any reef tank. They will thrive in a temperature range of 72-78?? F and a pH of 8.1-8.4.
