The Curly Q Anemone, Bartholomea annulata, Corkscrew Anemone, Trumpet Anemone, and Rock Anemone, is a carnivorous anemone that can consume fish, mussels, and crustaceans.  The Curly Q Anemone should be kept in a tank with plenty of live rock hiding places. It will usually attach to solid substrate and features a large mass of tentacles with a delicate spiral band of white nematocysts. It's mouth is located within the large mass of tentacles. It does not have photosynthetic zooxanthellae so it lives in lower lighting and low flow because it feeds from the water column. Supplementary carnivorous feedings are helpful. The Curly Q Anemone is actually a beneficial tank member as it helps sift and filter the tank from unwanted excess and decaying food stuffs.
