The Blue Xenia, Cespitularia sp., is a a vibrant blue coloration making it highly desirable in the aquarium trade. There very few corals available to hobbyists that exhibit the same deep electric blue color forms as the Blue Xenia. It may also go by the name of Blue Cespitularia. This particular specimen is aquacultured making it exceptionally acclimated to the home aquarium environment. Blue Xenia are photosynthetic but will readily take supplemental feedings of prepared aquarium foods. It will thrive in tanks with moderate lighting, moderate waterflow, and should be placed in the middle to the top of the tank. Placement should also be away from other corals to ensure they don't harm each other when their tentacles extend. Overall, the Blue Xenia is one of the most spectacular corals you can buy for you aquarium. Without question, the Blue Xenia will be a highlight of your tank whether you choose to make it the centerpiece or not.
