The Orange Spiny Gorgonian, Pinnigorgia flava, also known as Grube's Gorgonian, is an aquacultured gorgonian recently introduced into the US aquarium hobby. It is a thin-branched octocoral with orange spiny arms. Because it is an aquacultured specimen, the Orange Spiny Gorgonian is especially accustomed to the home aquarium and is a hardy coral. They should be kept in a tank with moderate waterflow, moderate lighting, and can be placed anywhere in the aquarium. The Orange Spiny Gorgonian can benefit from supplemental feedings of prepared aquarium foods including frozen brine and mysis shrimp. Overall, the Orange Spiny Gorgonian is a great addition to all reef tanks as it is peaceful, hardy, and quite exceptionally gorgeous.
This is such a beautiful coral. It acclimated quickly and is open fully most of the time. I love it!
