With its beautiful and stunning color combination, the Whipfin Fairy Wrasse looks brilliant in any reef tank. It adapts well in captivity and is easy to care for which makes it a very good choice for a beginner aquarist. The Whipfin Fairy Wrasse is a small, hardy and friendly towards other fishes which makes it an ideal saltwater and reef aquarium fish. Male Whipfin Fairy Wrasse is aggressive unlike females who are quite peaceful, therefore they can be kept in a tank together. Remember it is better to introduce females at first before males, or the males become aggressive towards newly added females. The Whipfin Fairy Wrasse should be kept in a tank not less than 50 gallons. It is a completely reef safe fish that will not touch corals or bother any other invertebrates in the tank. The aquarium should be well-established with live rocks and hiding places lest the Whipfin Fairy Wrasse become shy and hides most of its time. It likes brightly lit areas in the tank as well as dark areas. So the tank should be cleverly decorated for the Whipfin Fairy Wrasse to thrive well. It grows well in a temperature range of 72-78 degree Fahrenheit, and pH of 8.1-8.4. The Whipfin Fairy Wrasse is very easy to feed, accepts high quality flake food. The food includes frozen and chopped sea food, since it is carnivorous and should be given a high protein diet such as shrimps and meaty foods.
