The Spotted Linckia Starfish belongs to the echinoderms, which has tube feet specialized for crawling and preying on sessile animals. We suggest you to keep live rocks, where it will be found most of the time. The Spotted Linckia Starfish is comparatively smaller that other closely related species. It possesses an amazing regenerative ability and are able to grow new or individuals by fragmentation of the existing Linckia. The Spotted Linckia Starfish should never be housed with the parasitic snail such as Thyca crystalline that might kill it, and should be removed immediately if is found under the same. The Spotted Linckia Starfish is very sensitive to any changes in water parameters, and hence can act as a good indicator to water quality. It might get attacked by hermit crabs, true crabs, and some fishes, and thus should not be housed with the same. Once established, the Spotted Linckia Starfish does well and is quite hardy that makes a very good addition to any marine aquarium. It reproduces by asexual method, and undergoes self amputation, where it sheds one or more arms at various positions, which later grows into a new individual. The Spotted Linckia is considered an omnivore but the diet mostly consists of bacterial surface films and sponges which are usually present in an established tanks. It is completely reef safe and does not bother any corals instead feeds on live rocks covered with algae. The Spotted Linckia Starfish needs a careful acclimatization period of four hour at the time of getting it introduced in the tank.
