The Manybar Goatfish is also commonly referred to as the Red Goatfish. It uses its long barbell to sift through sand and other soft matter to search for food. With its relatively large adult size, this Goatfish needs plenty of space to swim, as well as an abundance of hiding places. The Manybar Goatfish thrives well in a temperature range of 72- 78 degrees Fahrenheit and pH of 8.1-8.4. It requires a tank of not less than 50 gallons and requires high care that is why we recommend this only for advanced aquarists. The Manybar Goatfish is not that safe to keep in reef tanks as it can bother corals if not sessile invertebrates. The Manybar Goatfish is very active fish and needs to eat often to keep up its energy.
