The water in the aquarium should be maintained at a temperature between 72 and 78 degree Fahrenheit. The proper pH should be between 8.1 and 12. The water should have a specific gravity between 1.023 and 1.025. A tank of size not less than 25 gallons is required. If there isn?t enough algae material in the aquarium then the diet can be supplemented with dried seaweeds. Dwarf white leg hermit crabs also dine on unwanted red slime algae. Dwarf white leg hermit crabs defend themselves from the enemy by hiding in the shells. Dwarf white leg hermit crabs are reef safe. A novice aquarist can easily manage a dwarf white leg hermit crab.
