The Cuban Hogfish is commonly referred to as the Spotfin Hogfish, which have a pinkish orange head. The brightness and positioning of color can vary considerably depending on the age of the fish. The Cuban Hogfish is semi aggressive in nature and is not a good idea to keep one male Cuban hogfish in company of another male, as it might become aggressive. It should never be housed with smaller fish that form a major part of the diet of this hogfish. The Cuban Hogfish can be housed with Foxface and rabbitfish, grunts and sweetlips, hawkfish, parrotfish, puffers, tangs and surgeons, and live corals. It is hermaphrodite, meaning it changes from females to males, this is the reason why it is so difficult to breed them in captivity.  alkaline content of the water to be high.
