As its name indicates, the Bumble bee snail has alternate black and yellow stripes, which gives it the look of a bumble bee. Its body features an intricately designed striking black shell, striped in elegant yellow bands, making the Bumble Bee Snail indeed appealing to observe. Bumble bee snail possesses a highly peaceful nature and should not be housed with aggressive fishes. Bumble bee snails can grow up to half inch and should not be housed in a tank of less than 10 gallons. Make sure to add plenty of rockwork shelves, overhangs and caves in the aquarium where it can hide or graze when required or stressed. Be cautious while keeping the bumble bee snail in a reef tank as it may nip on small snails and bristle worms but not on the corals present. It is best to keep the bumble bee snail in a temperature range of 72-78ø F, pH 8.1-8.4, and specific gravity 1.020-1.025. We recommend you to provide the bumble bee snail a diet that includes vitamin enriched frozen foods such as chopped mysis shrimp and brine shrimp. Also, it should be fed with other meaty foods along with a high quality marine pellet food and flakes for its continued good health. The Bumble Bee Snail is very sensitive to copper-related medications, high nitrate levels, and even the smallest fluctuation in water parameters.
