The Blue Palm Coral is a striking tunicate that adds beautiful hues to your aquarium. It does not require any light to live and is mainly a filter feeder. The Blue Palm is commonly referred to as Lollipop Tunicate, or Lollipop coral. It has thick, fingerlike stalks that support the asparagus-like heads which are clusters of zooids. Its main purpose is to continually filtering the water for food and therefore need good water flow. The Blue Palm needs daily planktonic feedings for its growth. Under stressed these cluster heads drop, so make sure to give it proper environment in the tank. Since it is non-photosynthetic, feeding this Blue Palm coral becomes little challenging. It needs moderate care level and no lighting requirements, but should be placed in an area of strong water current to filter feed. The Blue Palm gain zero nutrition from light, therefore its diet is totally from micro plankton and other filtered foods found in the sediment of the aquarium and filter foods placed in the aquarium.
