The Blue and Green Sympodium is a fast growing specimen and makes a very good addition to any tank. The Blue and Green Sympodium is usually found growing or encrusting on the rocks or shells, so make sure to add plenty of live rocks in the home aquarium. Due to its ease of growth and adaptability to the aquarium environment, it becomes one of the most desirable species amongst aquarists. The Blue and Green Sympodium requires moderate to high lighting along with moderate water flow. The Blue and Green Sympodium polyps receive the majority of their nutrition through the symbiotic algae zooxanthellae contained within the coral. However, the Blue and Green Sympodium thrives well when receives additional nutrients from phyto-plankton and other micro-organisms present in the water column. It is also best to feed the Blue and Green Sympodium periodically with meaty foods like cyclop-eeze, marine snow, and baby brine shrimp. Also, addition of supplements containing calcium, strontium and trace elements also contributes to its continued good health. The Blue and Green Sympodium thrives well in a temperature range of 72-78 degrees Fahrenheit and pH of 8.1-8.4. Since it is peaceful in nature, the Blue and Green Sympodium can be kept safely with other tank inhabitants.
