The Black Warty Sea Slug is commonly referred to as the Nudibranchs, Warty Sea Slugs, Varicose Sea Slug, Varicose Nudibranch, Varicose Wart Slug, Warty Sea Slug, Fried Egg Nudibranch, Fried Egg Sea Slug, Scrambled Egg Nudibranch and Scrambled Egg Sea Slug. It should be kept in a tank singly or in true mated pairs. The Black Warty Sea Slug is mostly found among corals, sponges and anemones. It is also known to feed on these reef tank inhabitants, thus is not a good choice for a reef tank. The meaning of its name is ?naked gills?, which are mollusks without a hard shell. The Black Warty Sea Slug is mostly hermaphrodites, and with its brilliantly colored body, it makes a beautiful slug. In itself the Black Warty Sea Slug acts as a deterrent against predators, by secreting acid from stinging cells in their tentacles or into their mantle. So make sure not to house it with corals, or other delicate inhabitants, as it may cause harm to them. It is slow moving slug that can swim or be propelled along either by muscular contraction or by millions of tine hair present on the bottom of the fleshy ?foot?. The Black Warty Sea Slug is a voracious eater and feeds with a rasp like tongue. As it excretes out lot of wastage, it is necessary to apply biological filtration system in the tank. It may lay their eggs in a ribbon effect on the sand, that too in different colors depending on species. Ensure all pump intakes are covered and overflow drains are screened.
