The Black Angel is commonly referred to as the Grey Angelfish, Grey-Black Angelfish. Juvenile Black Angel fish needs to be taken care by an experienced aquarist only. It is very attractive species that makes a gorgeous addition to any reef tank. The Black Angel should be kept in tank not less 90 gallon, it should be provided with more swimming space and extensive rock work. With whitish smoky grey colored chin area, the Black Angel makes a beautiful fish in the tank that captivates any onlooker. As an adult it is peaceful towards other tank mates but make sure not to keep it in overly crowded tank as this will provoke the Grey Angel into being more intolerant and territorial. The juveniles are semi-aggressive and since it bothers sessile invertebrates, it is not that considered safe for reef tanks. The Black Angel requires areas to take refuge and to feel safe that is why it is necessary to add plenty of live rocks and caves. It is an omnivore and likes to feed on marine algae, mysid shrimp, Spirulina, Sponges and other fresh or frozen seafoods. It is recommended to feed them ?Angel Formula? that contains a very high sponge percentage mixed in the food, since its diet consists heavily of sponge material. The Black Angel should be fed 2-3 times daily for its continued good health. It thrives well in a temperature range of 72-78 degrees Fahrenheit and pH of 8.1-8.4. Since the adult Black Angel is peaceful, it makes a very good choice for a fish only tank.
