Very few fish show sexual dimporphism, out of those few, the Bellus Angelfish is one of them. The female Bellus Angelfish has a beautiful pale white, blue and black body along with yellow or orange dorsal fin. The female Bellus Angelfish features a lateral stripe running from gills to tail, which makes it a stunning fish in the tank. It is best to keep true mated pairs or one male along with many females. The female Bellus Angelfish grows up to 7 inches in the wild but is usually imported much smaller, and should be kept in a tank not less than 55 gallons. The female Bellus Angelfish is considered a good reef dweller, hence can be kept in a reef aquarium. The aquarium must have multiple hiding places to take refuge when threatened, and plenty of live rock that encourage the growth of algae on it that will allow the female Bellus Angelfish to graze in between meals. Make sure not to keep two males in the same tank, as it can lead to aggression. The Bellus Angelfish is mainly hermaphrodite and can change their sex. The Bellus Angelfish should be given a diet of meaty foods such as marine algae, high quality frozen shrimp, spirulina. The Bellus Angelfish thrives well in a temperature range of 72-78 degrees Fahrenheit and pH of 8.1-8.4.
