The Barred Flame Cardinal features a pink to orange-red body, along with the two brown vertical bars toward the tail. The Flame Cardinal survives best at a temperature range of 72-78 degree Fahrenheit. Its diet is mainly comprised of small crustaceans and fishes, and also accepts a wide variety of meaty food stuffs. The Flame Cardinal can also be fed with color enhancing foods such as spirulina which helps in maintaining its color. The Flame Cardinal mainly inhabits rocky or coral rich reefs and is found mostly in caves and crevices, so it must be introduced in the tank. We suggest you keep live rocks in your aquarium. The Flame Cardinal is nocturnal and does most of their feeding at night time. The Flame Cardinal features mouth brooders, in which they incubate their eggs. The Flame Cardinal generally maintains a group and looks amazing while swimming with mesmerizing colored body. The Flame Cardinal should not be kept in large groups because of its aggressive behavior towards other Cardinalfish, although it does well in mated pairs.ÿIt is best to keep only one Flame Cardinal per tank then only it lives peacefully with other non-aggressive fish.
