The Truncate Anthias is commonly referred to as the Red Tip Anthias. This Truncate Anthias fish features a bright red tip on the lobes of the tail. With its beautiful light orange and pale purple color, it makes a beautiful addition to an aquarium. Since it doesn?t harm any invertebrates, it can be kept safely in a reef tank. The Truncate Anthias requires a tank with plenty of live rocks with caves and crevices that provides a place to hide or retreat when stressed or frightened. Since it is planktivore, it should be offered a variety of meaty foods, such as Mysis shrimp and enriched brine shrimp. The Truncate Anthias should be fed at least thrice a day for its continued good health. The Truncate Anthias is quite easy to use, and that makes a very good species for a beginner aquarist. The Truncate Anthias thrives well in a temperature range of 72-78 degrees Fahrenheit and pH of 8.1-8.4. The Truncate Anthias is peaceful fish and should not be housed with predatory fish. The Truncate Anthias is very easy to care and makes a good choice for a beginner aquarist. The Truncate Anthias grows up to 4 inches and should be kept in a tank not less than 45 gallons.
