The Swallowtail Angelfish is also known as the Spotbreast Angelfish and Blackspot Angelfish. It is not common for angelfish to exhibit sexual dimorphism, but the Swallowtail Angelfish is one of the few angelfish that do. The male Swallowtail Angelfish is identified by the dark, vertical lines along its sides. Swallowtail Angelfish have been known to grow up to 7 inches. The Swallowtail Angelfish is an active fish and should be given plenty of room to swim around. The typical diet of a Swallowtail Angelfish should consist of mysis, brine, and pellets. The Swallowtail Angelfish can become bloated if it gulps too much air from the surface while feeding, this is normal and it will expel the air. There should only be one male Swallowtail Angelfish in a tank, but in a large enough aquarium a pair, or a group of females with one male would do well.
Awesome Fish
Beautiful fish!! I have had a female for years, always been my favorite fish. This male I just received will be the first fish to give her competition.
