The Tangaroa Shrimpgoby is a fish with vivid and stunning coloration, which makes it a gorgeous addition to a saltwater reef tank. With an opaque colored body and red-white flecks, the Tangaroa Shrimpgoby makes a beautiful addition to any aquarium. Being smaller in size, the Tangaroa Shrimpgoby is considered a good fish for a small nano aquarium. The Tangaroa Shrimpgoby loves to burrow under the sea bed and therefore a thick sand bed is required for it to thrive. It often shares its burrows symbiotically with Alpheus shrimps, and the shrimp will aid in digging the Tangaroa Shrimpgoby an extensive burrow and in return the gobies alert the shrimp to retreat if any invader comes close to its proximity. The Tangaroa Shrimpgoby does well in small groups or pairs as long as it is added at the same time, so that it can establish its own territory within the aquarium. The diet includes a variety of live and frozen meaty foods such as brine shrimps, mysis shrimps, live black worms and high quality prepared foods for carnivores. The Tangaroa Shrimpgoby should not be kept in a tank less than 10 gallon and it prefers to have peaceful fishes in the tank along with many hiding places. The Tangaroa Shrimpgoby is also considered peaceful. The Tangaroa Shrimpgoby thrives well in a temperature range of 72-78 degrees Fahrenheit and pH of 8.1-8.4.
