This particular Montiporid seems to be a pinkish-purple color with green polyps. ORA claims that it is a plating species. Acroporids, or corals that belong to the Family Acroporidae (Acropora, Anacropora, Astreopora, Enigmopora, and Montipora), are the most abundant sps coral species found around the world (deep & shallow). While some of them may be difficult, most of these corals are quite easy to maintain in home aquaria; especially for seasoned aquarists. Since these animals are found all over the tropics, in every setting (reef crest, back reef, reef slope, and lagoons), a wide range of illumination & flow options are available. However, we have found that intense illumination will result in better coloration, and a higher flow rate will yield more growth. Intermediate to advanced aquarists can easily enjoy these animals.
