Theses assorted Acroporids can come in two different variations--one having branching, blue/purple morph, and the other having purple corallites with green polyps. Acroporids, or corals that belong to the Family Acroporidae (Acropora, Anacropora, Astreopora, Enigmopora, and Montipora), are the most abundant sps coral species found around the world (deep & shallow). While some of them may be difficult, most of these corals are quite easy to maintain in home aquaria; especially for seasoned aquarists. Since these animals are found all over the tropics, in every setting (reef crest, back reef, reef slope, and lagoons), a wide range of illumination & flow options are available. However, we have found that intense illumination will result in better coloration, and a higher flow rate will yield more growth. Intermediate to advanced aquarists can easily enjoy these animals.
