The Luzon Anthias is commonly referred to as the Luzon Anthias, Luzon Basslet, and Bali Fairy Basslet. The Luzon Anthias is absolutely reef safe and usually is tolerant of ornamental shrimp or other invertebrates. The Luzon Anthias grows up to 5 inches and should be kept in a tank not less than 50 gallons. With its beautiful color combinatuin, it makes a beautiful specimen in the tank. The Luzon Anthias should be fed a varied diet of mysis shrimp, vitamin-enriched brine shrimp, frozen preparations and other meaty items for zooplankton feeders, and small quantities of food several times per day. It prefers to have plenty of hiding places in the tank along with many caves to hide or retreat when required. Since it is hermaphrodite, breeding is quite difficult in captivity as there is no distinguishing characteristic to differentiate males from females. If a dominant male perishes, the largest female of the group will often morph to take its place. The Luzon Anthias thrives well in a temperature range of 72-78 degrees Fahrenheit and pH of 8.1-8.4. The Luzon Anthias is moderate to care for and can be recommended for an experienced aquarist. If you are willing to keep a group, we suggest you to introduce all the Luzon Anthias at the same time.
