The Dispar Anthias is commonly referred to as the Madder Seaperch, or Redfin. The Dispar Anthias feels the utmost comfort if keep in a tank not less than 55 gallon aquarium, with one male and multiple females. It is best to keep the Dispar Anthias in a 25 gallons tank if you are keeping it singly. The Dispar Anthias is hermaphrodite and breeding is quite difficult in captivity. If a dominant male perishes, the largest female of the group will often morph to take its place. The Dispar Anthias is a peaceful species, and should not be housed with predatory fishes. The Dispar Anthias thrives well in a temperature range of 72-78 degrees Fahrenheit and pH of 8.1-8.4. In captivity, the Dispar Anthias can sometimes be reluctant to feed, but can be enticed with amphipods, copepods, rotifers, and brine shrimp as well as foods such as prepared zooplankton, vitamin-enriched brine shrimp, chopped mysis shrimp, and other frozen meaty foods for marine fish. The Dispar Anthias is a very active species and is necessary to maintain the aquarium with proper mechanical and biological filtration.
