The Cleaner Wrasse is also known as Bluestreak Cleaner Wrasse and is widely distributed in the tropical Indo-Pacific region. This fish has been the focus of many research studies and are most commonly sold. The Cleaner Wrasse forms a great symbiotic relationship with other reef fish by cleaning them of their unwanted parasites. They are the peaceful attractive fish with a most intriguing "dance" that they perform to solicit other fishes to allow them to remove parasites and other debris from those fishes? body, fins, and mouths. The Cleaner Wrasse is a small fish with a slender elongated body, which is separated by a large horizontal band with white on the underside and generally blue on the upper half. Its size varies and reaches up to 5.5 inches in adults. Though the Cleaner Wrasse is reef safe and peaceful, we recommend these fishes to opt only by experienced aquarists, as they are difficult to keep. The Cleaner Wrasse is carnivorous and is considered as obligatory feeder. It can be kept in an aquarium containing diverse population of fish along with a variety of ectoparasites, basically supplying enough natural foods to sustain the cleaners. We suggest you to provide them with finely chopped meaty foods such as shrimp, brine shrimp, squid. The Cleaner Wrasse loves to sleep in crevices of rocks and therefore few live rocks are recommended to keep in an aquarium along with thick sand bed as they burrow into the substrate at night. It has the tendency to jump from the aquarium so we suggest you to keep them in a covered aquarium. It lives either singly or in pairs. It is very peaceful fish and also keeps other fish parasite free.

The Cleaner Wrasse is a Wrasse which serves as a cleaner for fish in the wild. These fish have markings that allow fish to know that they do not pose a threat, but have come to clean them of parasites. The Cleaner Wrasse is white and blue with a black horizontal stripe beginning at its mouth and gradually widening to its tail. These fish set up cleaning stations in the wild where fish will come to be cleaned. The Cleaner Wrasse will accept all fish foods. They may often lie on their sides and can be appear to be dying, but are actually in fine health. They can also spin a cotton-like substance to protect themselves while they rest, which can make them appear dead. These fish are great for tanks with larger fish that like to be cleaned. While these fish can be kept in groups they are best kept alone.Note: This item may spin a harmless cottony substance in its shipping bag. This does not negatively affect the health of the item in any way. These items are known to "play dead", so don't be misled by this behavior.
