The Red Glass Button Coral is a great coral for beginners, because it is hardy in nature and is easy to maintain. With its beautiful hue and interesting shape, the Red Glass Button Coral enhances the display value of the aquarium it inhabits. The Button Coral features a single, large, swelled up, translucent polyp that ruptures easily. It is commonly referred to as the Meat Polyp Coral, Doughnut Coral, Tooth Coral, Cynarina Doughnut Coral, Teary Eye Coral, Flat Brain Coral and Knob Coral. The Button Coral is non-aggressive towards the other marine aquarium, thus can easily be kept with other inhabitants. The Red Glass Button Coral is a large polyp stony coral, which resembles a cat?s eye, hence named as Cat?s Eye Cynaria Coral. The Button Coral is moderately sized and is best to keep it in an aquarium of not less than 100 gallon, along with plenty of rocks and ample space to grow. It is best to place the Button Coral on sand, at the bottom of the aquarium, so it needs a thick sand bed in the aquarium. The Button Coral derives its nutrition via photosynthesis performed by the symbiotic algae that dwells inside its tissue named as zooxanthellae. Other than photosynthesis, the Button Coral is usually carnivores and mainly feeds at night by extending its tentacles during the same time. It is essential to add calcium, strontium and trace elements in the water for its continued good health. The Button Coral can be fed meaty bits of raw shrimp and Mysis Shrimp, acellular marine invertebrates and phytoplankton. Since it is easy to care and handle, it makes a great inhabitant for any aquarium.
Very happy with this coral! Exceeded expectations.
This coral is exactly what I wanted. I wish that the review let me post a photo, because I think my coral is more awesome than the one pictured. This has the fleshy polyp like I have been wanting. (Kinda like a bubble coral). I put it in my tank when I received it this morning, and it opened right up. Mine is more of a red/pink color, and like I said, it is gorgeous. I think that this may be my new favorite coral! Thanks you guys!
